Breakfast

Strawberry Smoothie Bowl

Strawberry Smoothie Bowl

What a beautiful bowl for breakfast! I saw these lovely little coconut bowls on Instagram – they arrived yesterday and I could not wait to make something beautiful to put inside them! I settled for a breakfast smoothie bowl. Very simple to prepare and so delicious. I couldn’t believe the following from the coconut bowls website:

“Approximately 50 BILLION coconuts fall from trees every year around the world. The shells of these coconuts which are by-products of the coconut oil, coconut water and coconut meat industries, are discarded and burned. Isn’t that a crazy stupid waste? Coconut bowls are an environmentally friendly recycled natural product. They are 100% natural and hand-crafted by local Balinese people.”

“The poetry of earth is never dead.” John Keats

Strawberry Smoothie Bowl

Ingredients

1 cup frozen strawberries (or whatever is in season) – If you don’t have frozen berries just add some ice to the mix with your fruit.

1 cup almond milk

2 tablespoons coconut yoghurt

1 scoop vanilla protein powder

What do I do now?

Put everything in a blender or nutri-ninja or similar and blend.

Pour into a bowl and decorate with whatever you have. I used strawberry, blueberry, mint, shredded coconut and a couple of little edible flowers.

Anything else I should know?

Love these coconut bowls!
